Be Calm While Surrounded By Chaos - Counties
(Student can review in a hectic or busy environment)

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (Objectives)
Given a noisy environment, student will learn that they can find time to review the XX Counties of your state.

FIVE STEP LESSON PLAN

Set Induction/Anticipatory Set:
Ask the students if they do their homework with the TV or radio on. Ask if they really think that they are making good use of their time. Ask if they feel that they could learn more in a quiet environment.

Instruction/Teaching to the Objective:
Tell them that, although you might not approve of their study habits, it IS possible to make good use of a noisy environment to ignore noise and practice reciting the XX Counties.

Guided Practice:
Model how, with the students in quiet conversation with each other (encourage them to talk among themselves while watching you), you can look off into the distance and imagine your mental map of your state as you recite the conties and point to the counties on your mental map. Tell them that they will all get the opportunity to practice this in class today.

Independent Practice:
Have each student recite the XX Counties while other students in the class are talking quietly among themselves.

Closure:
Explain that they can review in a noisy environment.

EVALUATION:
Each student should have recited the xx counties in xx seconds or less.

RESOURCES AND MATERIALS:
No Resources Required. Lesson will take about 1 minute per student.
